Thank you, Donna Shalala
"Insurgent Leader Vows Uprising Has Only Begun." So an insurgent has just told us that this uprising is just the begining. So I guess that thing that happened on 9/11 (that no one remembers) is an uprising. That's nice. The leaders of rebellious groups plotting to kill our troops and civilians are insurgents. There is only one person to blame for this conding. Donna Shalala.
Where did this idea of being politically correct come from? Hillary? Billary? Katie Couric? If you answered yes to any of these, you are wrong. The mastermind of politically correctness is Donna Shalala. Yes, the former Secretary of HHS. She came up with the idea long, long ago in a place far, far away called Wisconsin. She was President of U. of Wisconsin, when she molded the rules around politically corectness. Where is she now? President of U. of Miami. Move to Canada, Donna.

What does this mean? Where are you getting that second sentence?
Dear Anonymous, It means that the politically correct term for a terrorist attack is an up rising. And the appropriate term for a terrorist is an insurgent.
OK. But why does the first sentence (referencing a rebellion against an occupying force, good or not) "mean" what you suppose in the second sentence?
I mean.....if the dictionary definition of uprising is "organized opposition to authority; a conflict in which one faction tries to wrest control from another," which matches the situation....and the guy probably said something that easily translates to "uprising"....how is it "PC" for the media to report it as such?
Because the people in Iraq we are dealing with are terrorists. If you had the intellectual capacity of a pea you would understand.
Certainly, some are bombing their own in order to spur a reaction, and yes, it's despicable. But a number have simply been raised to believe the US is terrible, and they've been sans power and water and food for a year and living in a town that gets constantly shelled and can, in such situations, only be expect to fight against the invading forces.
I find it funny that soldiers with thousands of dollars' worth of weapons and equipment who cut down insurgents left and right with the aide of computerised systems are brave heros, yet misguided and confused souls who, in the interest of patriotism (something we claim to hold dear) suicidally go up against said soldiers armed only with light assault weapons are "cowards" and "terrorists."
Terrorism is not fighting against US military forces. Terroism is fighting against US civilians.
Get it straight.
TerroRism, that was.
And again: fighting against a man with an m16 is war, not terrorism.
This is the last time I'm posting a comment. Your Easy-to-disprove beliefs bore me. Look, Most of Iraq does have electricity and runningwater. If they were brought up to believe the U.S. was bad, and ruled bby such a toltaletarian regime, they had a greater chance of becoming terrorists. But, let's not take care of the problem before it happens, let's wait for them to kill 3,000 of our own people. It's people like you, no matter how much you may or may not love your county, that will get us killed. GWB is keeping the fight on their turf, and not on ours.
